Sefid Kuh Mine

A Diamond in the Heart of the Desert

The Sefid Kouh Gray Granite Mine, which has been a key supplier of granulated granite for the country since approximately 2008, has achieved remarkable production records over various historical periods. This mine has successfully attracted a network of loyal customers across diverse domestic and international markets. Located in the Nehbandan region of South Khorasan Province, it is one of the area's granulated granite mines, covering an area of more than 1.73 square kilometers in the Chah Dashi plains.

In 2022, ROVAMINE, aiming to expand its product portfolio and support projects and business partners needing high-quality, high-volume granulated granite products for extensive surface coverage in the shared areas of construction projects, acquired the operational license for the Sefid Kouh Gray Granite Mine located in the Nehbandan region of South Khorasan Province. This mine benefits from convenient and economical access to national freight transportation networks, making it highly advantageous for swift, high-tonnage loading across various seasons to destinations within Iran as well as for exports to international ports.

Another significant aspect of this granite mine is the multiple active working fronts, enabling ROVAMINE to achieve high-volume production.

Regarding this mine, we are hopeful that, through diligent efforts in planning for quality production increases and the significant equipping initiatives launched by ROVAMINE's professional teams in 2023, which enabled production to commence by the end of the year, we can stabilize production levels within the first half of 2024 to reach the permitted annual capacity as outlined in the operational license.

Currently, this mine offers its granulated gray granite in two grades: dark and light, each showcasing unique beauty and functionality with fine, eye-catching granules. Both grades have a strong customer base among domestic factories and projects. ROVAMINE is committed to meeting growing demand by increasing quality production and maintaining substantial output to satisfy more customers interested in the mine's products.

The products from this mine are primarily used in shared building spaces or large-scale public areas, such as flooring and walls in common building areas, parking lots, courtyards, and exterior public spaces at project sites. Notably, similar applications were widely implemented in 2016 at Moscow International Airport, prior to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where the granite still shines resiliently as a gem in those spaces.
